Karachi - Unremitting gun violence across the metropolitan city claimed the lives of a Shiite man on Sunday.
Twenty-two-year-old Ali Raza was gunned down in Kharadar police precincts. The murder was committed near the Okhai Memon mosque situated behind the Jilani Centre in Kharadar.
Kharadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer Zahid Hussain said Raza, who resided and operated a French fries stall in the same locality where he was targeted, was present at the stall when two men on a motorcycle opened fire on him and fled the scene.
The wounded man was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. He had suffered multiple bullets to the chest.
Police said the assailants had used 9mm pistols in the attack and six spent bullet casings were despatched to the forensic division. They said Raza belonged to the Shia community and he was murdered on sectarian grounds.
